Air Force Airman 1st Class Kristen Babicki, niece of Maureen Babicki of Richmond, has arrived for duty at McConnell Air Force Base, Wichita, Kan. Babicki, an aerospace medical services apprentice with one year of military service, is assigned to the 22nd Air Refueling Wing.

Navy Seaman Courtney M. Smith, daughter of Marie W. and Rex M. Johnson of Alna, recently reported for duty at Naval Information Operations Command Texas, San Antonio, Texas. Smith is a 2004 graduate of Wiscasset High School and a 2006 graduate of University of Maine at Augusta. She joined the Navy in February 2007.

Daniel C. Bellefleur recently graduated from U.S. Marine training. He graduated at Parris Island, S.C., on Nov. 2 as a private. He is the son of Bettina Bellefleur and the late Daniel L. Bellefleur of Topsham and a 2007 graduate of Mt. Ararat High School.
