Brunswick hoops to host Alumni game
BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick High School boys basketball team will host an Alumni game on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at the high school.
All former basketball players are invited to return and play against the current Dragons varsity squad.
The public is welcome to attend and admission is free.
Oelschlager named All-American
BRUNSWICK — Bowdoin College junior Ingrid Oelschlager has been named a Second-Team All-American selection by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.
It is the 16th consecutive season that at least one Bowdoin player has earned All-American recognition.
The All-American nod caps a fantastic campaign for Oelschlager, who also garnered First-Team All-New England Small College Athletic Conference and First-Team All-New England honors in the past two weeks.
The junior playmaker started all 16 games in the midfield for Bowdoin this season, scoring four goals to go with six assists. Through three seasons, Oelschlager has 25 goals and 12 assists for a total of 62 points.
Oelschlager helped the Polar Bears to a 10-6 overall record and a ranking of 15th in final Division III National Poll.
Black Bears to hold softball clinic
ORONO — The University of Maine softball team is slated to conduct winter clinics, beginning in January.
All clinics are open to those in grades 5-12, and will be held inside the Mahaney Dome and Memorial Gym on the University of Maine campus.
Clinics will be held Jan. 17, Jan. 24, Jan. 31 and Feb. 7 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Each clinic is divided into two hitting sessions, two fielding sessions, one pitching and one catching session. A new skill will be introduced each week, and athletes have the option to pick and choose the sessions they wish to attend.
The cost is $15 for one session, $25 for two and $30 for three sessions.
The Black Bears encourage athletes to sign up soon with space limited.

Morse to host Westlake wrestling
BATH — The Morse High School wrestling team is scheduled to host the 28th annual Westlake Wrestling Tournament on Saturday at Bath Middle School.
Cony, Erskine Academy, Gardiner, Lincoln Academy, Medomak Valley, MCI, Morse, Mt. Ararat, Bonny Eagle, Mt. Blue, Winslow and wrestlers from Brunswick are slated to compete.
Weigh-in is scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m., with wrestling action getting under way at 9 a.m.
The cost is $3 for adults, with students and seniors paying $1.
Ribbons will be awarded to the top four finishers in each weight class.
