WORKERS PULL DOWN the former Bath YMCA and Bath Youth Meetinghouse and Skatepark on Monday. After a structural evaluation of the former YMCA building revealed a spate of potential public safety hazards, the Bath City Council in October 2011 gave final passage to a bond designed to pay for demolition of the dilapidated portion of the building and the adjoining part of the structure that until late November housed the Bath Youth Meetinghouse and Skatepark. The skate park’s board of directors hopes to reopen the program in the former National Guard Armory near Bath Middle School.
