Police seek man in connection with possible Bath overdose death
BATH — Bath police issued a release late this morning seeking help from the public in locating a local man wanted for questioning about events related to the death of 35-year-old Sean Duffy.
Duffy’s body was found Saturday afternoon in a room at the Hampton Inn on Commercial Street.
Bath Police Lt. Stan Cielinski reiterated today that Duffy’s death does not appear suspicious at this time, and that police believe he died from an overdose of illegally obtained prescription narcotics.
But detectives investigating the death are attempting to locate 31-year-old Mark Watrous of the Bath area, who they say had contact with Duffy during the 24 hours before his death.
Watrous was scheduled to appear in West Bath District Court this morning, but failed to show up, Cielinski said. He is now wanted on a warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of operating after habitual offender revocation.
Police ask anyone with information about Watrous’ whereabouts to call Bath detectives at 443-8367.
Also in today’s release, Bath Police Chief Michael Field urged residents who need information or help with addiction to contact Mid Coast Hospital’s Addiction Resource Center at 1-800-244-3805.
