RUMFORD — Emma Wood of Mt. Ararat High School took first place in Thursday’s Freestyle Nordic Skate at Black Mountain in the 2012 Class A State Skiing Championships. Wood crossed the finish line in 14:56.7, 23 seconds ahead of runner-up Sarah Wade of Mt. Blue, with Abby Popenoe of Portland in third.
