Eveningstar Cinema to star in feature film

BRUNSWICK — Eveningstar Cinema will present a special screening of the feature film “Sticky Wicket” on Saturday, Aug. 17, at 9 p.m.

The film was primarily shot at the theater at the Tontine Mall, and was executive produced by Barry Norman, owner and operator of the Eveningstar.

The film was directed by independent filmmaker Rick Schmidt, who will be in the audience at the premiere.

The story involves the Brunswick Chapter of the Women-Only Croquet Club, which organizes resistance to the corporate takeover by an invading Cineplex movie chain. In its direct path is the tiny little Eveningstar Cinema with its 100 seat theater.

Prior to the screening, there will be a dessert/coffee party at the Wild Oats space in the Mall between 8 and 9 p.m.

Tickets for the party and the movie will be $15 and will be available at Eveningstar’s box office, which opens at 12:30 p.m. daily.
