THE MERRICONEAG WALDORF SCHOOL cross country squads competed Friday in the Western Maine Conference Championships at St. Joseph’s College. In Division 2 action, the Yarmouth girls won with 27 points to beat out Merriconeag (84). Running for Merriconeag were Samantha Pierce (38, 22:48), Carlin Tindall (55, 24:00), Lily Tupper (60, 24:3), Sylvie Fenderson (65, 25:02) and Emma Dolan (84, 26:22). In boys Division 2 action, Fryeburg Academy beat out Merriconeag 32-42 for team honors. Merriconeag runners included Tucker Pierce (13th, 17:49), Zachary Neveu (14, 17:51), Dylan Wu (30, 18:42), Lars Gunderson (51, 19:48), John Burgess (58, 20:16), Graham Roeber (67, 20:37) and Lincoln Samuelson (93, 23:13). Up next for Merriconeag is the Western Maine Class C Regional this Saturday at Twin Brook in Cumberland. Here in action are Tindall (top photo), who is trying to track down Fryeburg Academy’s Ariel Fogden (491), along with Merriconeag teammates Zach Neveu (484) and Tucker Pierce (488).
