Martin pitches ’Cats past Bucks

BUCKFIELD — Meranda Martin tossed a seven-hitter with five strikeouts and two walks to lead Richmond High School to a 15-3 East- West Conference softball win on Monday.

The Bobcats improved to 3-0 and host Sacopee Valley today in makeup action.

Martin also helped her own cause with two singles, a triple and three RBIs.

Kylie Littlefield and Arrabin Dunn had two singles each in the loss.

In a five-run sixth, Kelsea Anair had a two-run double.

Four Buckfield pitchers combined on eight strikeouts and nine walks.



The Falcons scored five runs in the seventh inning to pick up their first Western Maine Conference win over the 0-4 Wildcats at York.

Hannah Ray and Nicole Perry each had a pair of hits to pace Freeport, 1-3 and slated to host Cape Elizabeth on Wednesday.

Stephanie Rundlett and Sophia Stephens each tripled for York.



The host Black Raiders scored two runs in the second and three in the third before holding on for a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B win over Morse, which saw its twogame winning streak come to an end.

Hannah Doble struck out nine, walked two and permitted nine hits to earn the mound win for Winslow (3- 2). At the plate, she singled twice and drove in a run, while teammates Hayley Pottle (double, single) and Paige Veilleux (single, two RBIs) powered the Black Raiders’ offense.

Jacelyn McNeill singled three times and drove in a run for Morse (2-3), while Hope Faulkingham tripled and singled.

McNeill went the distance on the mound for the Shipbuilders, with three strikeouts, no walks and nine hits allowed.

Morse is slated to host Camden Hills today at 4 p.m.
