Kudos to Tucker

Representative Ralph Tucker of Brunswick must be recognized for his environmental leadership during the last legislative session. As a freshman member of the Legislature and of the Environment and Natural Resources Committee, Representative Tucker was a fierce champion for Maine’s environment and for all Mainers who depend upon our natural resources for work and recreation.

I know of no legislator who works harder than Ralph Tucker. As one example, during a particularly challenging controversy during the last session, he fought long and hard against weakening Maine’s environmental laws that regulate large scale mining operations. He championed strong mining rules to protect against risks to Maine’s environment and costs to Maine’s taxpayers.

Maine Conservation Voters recently published the 2015 Environmental Scorecard evaluating all of Maine’s legislators. Representative Tucker earned a 100 percent rating for his strong environmental record throughout the session. I thank him for demonstrating courage, stewardship and leadership on both environmental and many other issues on behalf of his constituents in District 50 and all of Maine’s citizens.

We’re fortunate to have Ralph Tucker working for us in the State House.
