Reed & Reed acquires electrical transmission contractor
WOOLWICH — Civil contractor Reed & Reed, Inc. of Woolwich recently completed the acquisition PLC Construction of Farmington, New Hampshire, a builder of electrical transmission infrastructure. The asset purchase includes PLC’s fleet of electrical transmission construction equipment, and as part of the transaction former owner Carl Haines and his crews have joined Reed & Reed’s family of companies.
“Reed & Reed is extremely pleased to welcome Carl Haines and his exceptional crew to our company,” said Reed & Reed President and CEO Jackson Parker. “They have regularly performed subcontract work for us, and we’ve been impressed with the quality of their work, their on-time performance and their excellent safety record. As New England demands more clean energy generation and electric transmission to deliver new sources of clean energy to the markets, this acquisition made sense for a number of reasons. Reed & Reed has expanded our portfolio over the past decade, building electric transmission and most of New England’s wind power generation facilities. Therefore, PLC was an obvious fit with our business.”
PLC Construction will operate as a division of Reed & Reed, Inc. from its base of operations in Farmington, New Hampshire.
