The Salvation Army welcomes Lieutenants Neil and Kirsten Childs as the newly appointed leaders of The Salvation Army Bath/ Brunswick Corps located at 25 Congress Ave. in Bath.

They will be responsible for all aspects of The Salvation Army’s ministry and service in Bath and surrounding areas.

Lieutenants Childs succeed Majors Jean and Kenneth Henderson who have retired after serving in Bath as the Corps Officers for the past 11 years.

The lieutenants were recently commissioned as Salvation Army officers from the College for Officer Training in Suffern, New York. They originally hail from Springfield, Massachusetts, where they were married 18 years ago. They have two children.

“We are excited to be a part of the community here in Bath,” said Lieutenant Neil Childs. “There is so much going in this community and we are looking forward to see what we can do to help and be a part of this great community.”
