The Brunswick U11 Cal Ripken baseball team recently competed in the New England Regional at Waterville’s Purnell Wrigley Field.

After a solid run to regionals, the Barnstormers faced three tough opponents in the regional, defeating Washington Park, N.H., 9-2, and the host Waterville squad, 12-1, before falling in the title contest to Plymouth, Mass., 14-3.

Teams from Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut and Maine competed in the regional.

The road to the regional began in the district, with Brunswick downing rival Ararat in the title game.

Next came the state tourney at Skowhegan. The Barnstormers faced off against Fairfield, Andy Valley and Auburn to make it to the state finals. Brunswick went in to the finals against Andy Valley with no losses. Andy Valley, Brunswick and Waterville competed in the regional.
