Bowdoin International Music Festival announces Stover as financial officer

STOVER STOVER BRUNSWICK — The Bowdoin International Music Festival has announced that Susanne Stover has been hired as its new financial officer.

Stover comes to the Festival following a 20-plus-year corporate career in New York and California, most recently as senior vice president and chief financial officer for the New York Racing Association, and chief financial officer for Rosa Mexicano Restaurants.

A certified public accountant and certified professional coach, she began her career as an auditor at KPMG and later worked with the Walt Disney Company, Time Warner, and California Pizza Kitchen. Stover is a Massachusetts and Maine native, spending summers on her family’s island in the New Meadows River. She is a graduate of Boston College and loves music, arts, and crafts.

“I am excited to live in the area that has been my second home and to work with this wonderful music organization,” Stover said in a prepared statement.

“We are thrilled to welcome Susanne. She brings admirable energy and experience to the organization,” said Daniel Nitsch, executive director of the festival, in a prepared statement. “I look forward to working closely with her throughout the coming months and introducing her to the Festival community next summer.”

The mission of the Bowdoin International Music Festival, founded in 1964, is to prepare gifted young musicians from around the world for a life in music through study with worldclass artists, and to present classical music in concerts performed to the highest artistic standards.

The Gamper Festival of Contemporary Music, founded in 1965, has commissioned and presented the work of emerging and established composers, including Luciano Berio, George Crumb, Sebastian Currier, William Bolcom, George Rochberg and many others.
