All Saints Parish hosting ‘Advent for Adults’ series

The Times Record

All Saints Parish will host “Advent for Adults” throughout the Advent season at four of its parish churches.

The free series aims to help people grow in their faith, learn new ways to connect with God, explore God in the world of art and music, and immerse in Advent through experiences of prayer.

The series will be facilitated by Sheila Murphy, who holds a master’s degree in pastoral ministry from Loyola

Marymount University in Los Angeles. Since 2000, she has served in a variety of roles in youth, adult and music ministry at All Saints Parish.

The series is divided into three sessions, with each being offered at four different locations and times.

“People can come to one session or all three,” said Murphy. “They can come to the first session at one church and continue with session two at another location.”

The schedule is as follows, with a new session offered each week:

• St. John the Baptist Church, 39 Pleasant St., Brunswick – 9-10 a.m. Fridays, Dec. 1, 8, and 15

• St. Charles Borromeo Church, 132 McKeen St., Brunswick – 6:30-7:30 p.m. Sundays, Dec. 3, 10, and 17

• St. Mary Church, 144 Lincoln St., Bath – 6:30-7:30 p.m. Mondays, Dec. 4, 11, and 18

• St. Patrick Church, 380 Academy Hill Road, Newcastle – 10-11 a.m. Tuesdays, Dec. 5, 12, and 19

Though admission is free, registration is recommended by calling (207) 725-2624 or emailing sheila.finemore@portlanddiocese.org.
