PELHAM, N.H. — Friends and relatives have started a fundraising effort to help the family of a 2-year-old boy who was seriously injured in a fireworks accident.

Ben Bertini was injured in the Tuesday night accident at his grandparents’ home in Pelham. He was put into a medically induced coma at Shriners Hospital in Boston, where he is receiving treatment.

The boy’s grandmother, Linda Bertini, told the Eagle Tribune that the funds will help Ben’s parents with medical bills and other expenses. She said Ben’s parents are out of work and plan to be by his side while he’s hospitalized.

People can donate to: FBO Friends of Ben Fund, Enterprise Bank, P.O. Box 1038, 139 Bridge St., Pelham, NH 03076.
