South Portland Parks and Recreation will hold First Tee of Maine, a free introductory golf clinic, from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday at the Memorial Middle School athletic complex. The clinic is open to children of any age. Participants will be introduced to the nine core values of the First Tee program and learn fun golf activities. The Sebago Challenge open water swim will be held at 8 a.m. Aug. 4 at Sebago State Park in Casco. The event offers three distances: 1,000, 2,500 and 5,000 meters. Awards will be given to the top three in each event, as well as the top male and female finisher in each of 17 age groups. The event is sanctioned by USA Swimming and U.S. Masters Swimming. Entries are limited to 350 swimmers, and participants must register by July 27. Entry forms are available at www.sebago-challenge.org.
