• Krey Sims joined Winxnet as a technical support specialist. Sims formerly worked for The Collier Cos. as a network administrator. He has more than three years of technical support experience.

Larry Ross joined Landry/French Construction as a site superintendent. Ross was previously with Wright-Ryan Construction and has more than 26 years of experience in the industry.

Ryan Kelley joined Pierce Atwood LLP as an associate in its business practice group. Prior to joining Pierce Atwood, Kelley clerked for Judge John C. Cook in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee.

Jonathan Leahy joined Benchmark Real Estate in Portland as an associate broker. Leahy has nearly five years of real estate brokerage experience. He was previously an associate broker with CBRE|The Boulos Co.

BOARD APPOINTMENTS

The CFA Society Maine elected the following officers for its board of directors:

Jim Bennett, president; Alex Dodd, vice president; Peter Boland, vice president; Jenifer Wilson, vice president; Jessamyn Larrabee Norton, secretary; and Karen Milliken, treasurer.

The following individuals will serve on the board of directors for the 2012/2013 fiscal year: Mike DelTergo, Carl Gercke, Bartley Parker, Brian Schutrumpf and Bob Strong.

Dennis Lemieux, director of operations at BerryDunn, was elected president of the Association of Accounting Administration. Lemieux has served on the association’s board of directors for six years. His term as president extends through June 30, 2013.

Tom Judge, executive director of LifeFlight, was reappointed to the National EMS Advisory Council. Judge has served as executive director of LifeFlight since 1999 and has more than 30 years of experience in the emergency medical services field.

Michael Messerschmidt, a partner and chair of Preti Flaherty’s Labor and Employment Practice Group, was elected a fellow in the College of Labor & Employment Lawyers.

Messerschmidt, of Cape Elizabeth, is a nationally recognized labor and employment lawyer. He is a former Maine assistant attorney general, working in the criminal division.

Verrill Dana has formed a new practice group concentrating on maritime and marine technology law. The Maritime Group is made up of attorneys who include the president of the Marine & Oceanographic Technology Network; a former special agent with the Office of Naval Intelligence; and a graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
