BOWDOINHAM — Three juvenile boys, who all live in Bowdoinham, have been charged with burglary and theft in connection with a break-in that occurred last month at the Bowdoinham Country Store on River Road.

Detective Dan Reed of the Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Department recovered $270 in cash and $1,200 worth of cigarettes, according to Chief Deputy Brett Strout.

Strout said one boy is 15-years-old, the remaining boys are 13. The 15-year-old faces an additional charge of burglary in connection with a second break-in that took place at the store on July 22.

Strout said a parent contacted police after she found one of the boys in possession of a large quantity of cigarettes.

The boys allegedly broke into the store sometime during the night of July 26. Police said the cash register was emptied and several cartons of cigarettes were stolen.
